ColourPop Eyeshadows

I have finally dipped my toes in to the world of Colourpop, I don't know what took me so long to be honest? $5 eyeshadows that have so many rave reviews, I knew I would be in for a treat. So after deciding on a selection of eyeshadows and blushes (which I will review separately), I eagerly awaited my parcel.

I decided on four warm-toned eyeshadows that I thought would be all be suitable for Autumn: La La, On The Rocks, Mittens and Hustle.

La La is a true rose gold in a ultra-metallic finish. This is just so pretty and looks great just blended across the lid or paired with one of the other three shadows for a more intense look. It is highly metallic but is still lovely and smooth to apply and blend.

On The Rocks is a vibrant true bronze with gold and violet glitter. If you like bronzy gold shadows then this is a must as it is great shade for all seasons, and looks beautiful when the shimmer catches the light.

Mittens is a deep warm brown with red violet undertone in a matte finish. This look amazing with green eyes used in the outer corner and blended through the crease. The perfect shade for fall and quite a unique shade for a matte shadow.

Hustle is a burgundy violet shadow again with a matte finish. This is a deep plum shade which is intensely rich and again makes the green in my eyes really pop. A lovely color for the coming months.

These shadows are something else, I know the word buttery gets used a lot when describing eyeshadows but these truly are. The swatches above and below are literally one dip into the pan with my finger and then swiped once on my arm. They are unbelievably creamy and intensely pigmented and can be applied either with fingers or brushes depending on preference. As they are a cream to powder formulation, there is no fall-out from these and are very easily blended. They are also incredibly long-wearing and last all day without creasing, which for a budget eyeshadow is so impressive. I can't get over how beautiful they all are!

For only £3.27!!! ($5 each - US website), ColourPop eyeshadows are honestly some of the best I have tried. The only negative I have about them is their chunky packaging which I don't really like that much, it would be great if they came out with a slimmer palette at some point. However, for the price I really have no complaints and would highly recommend them. I know they are hard to get hold of for people outside of the US, but hopefully they will ship to other countries soon.

Milani Bella Eyes Gel Powder Eyeshadow - Bella Bronze & Bella Espresso

The Milani Bella Eyes Gel Powder Eyeshadows have been on my wish list since they were first released. They looked absolutely beautiful, and from looking at swatches online, I had a huge list of shades that I wanted to try. When I saw that Beauty Joint had them available, I knew that I had to place an order. In my true impulsive shopping style, I ended up with 12 different shades. Although all the shades are beautiful, Bella Bronze and Bella Espresso are definitely my favourites.

I wasn't sure what kind of formula to expect from the eyeshadows - I found the name to be slightly confusing! There was no need to worry however. The eyeshadows are buttery soft, apply smoothly and have the most amazing pigmentation. If I'm honest, I wasn't drawn to Bella Bronze or Bella Espresso at first. They looked very similar to other eyeshadows I owned and not all that exciting. But, after swatching both, I am in love.

Bella Bronze is a beautiful deep bronze with an intense metallic finish. I tend to apply it all over the lid using my finger, then add winged eyeliner. It's such a pretty but simple look. Bella Espresso is a dark chocolate shade with a slight golden undertone. I've been applying this alone into the crease of my eye with a fluffy blending brush. It's the perfect lazy day makeup.

I really like the packaging of the Bella Eyes Eyeshadows. Although silky bulky, they feel very sturdy and I love the gold casing. Another positive is that you can see which shade is which without having to go through all the different compacts - a huge advantage when you have more than one shade.

Although Milani is hard to get hold of in the UK, I'd definitely recommend trying to get your hands on these eyeshadows, for just $5.49 they are a complete bargain. Beauty Joint is one of my favourite websites, and although based in the US, I have never been stung with any customs charges, delivery has been quick and their range of products is amazing. I apologise in advance for any money you spend!

MAC Eye Shadow X 9 | Burgundy Times Nine

I was so excited to see these eyeshadow palettes that have been newly released from Mac. The Mac Eyeshadow x 9 comprises of four palettes in different color ways from the Eyes on Mac Collection. The one that I bought is Burgundy Times Nine, a palette of burgundy hues, but it is also available in Amber, Purple and Navy.

Being impulsive and not reading the information correctly, I assumed that it contained nine full sized pans, but they are actually miniature pans so these nine shadows fit in the same sized palette as four regular pans. Nevertheless, is great value to be able to try out a variety of shades in a particular color way. It is the perfect size for travel too, am I the only one that hates lugging around huge palettes?

The Burgundy Times Nine Palette contains the shades Honey Lust, Poppyseed, Quarry, Antiqued, Embark, Noir, Haux, Star Violet and Sketch. I chose this palette as half of the shades included are ones that have been on my wish list for ages, so this was the perfect palette to be able to try them all out at last. Burgundy toned shadows are also great for green eyed girls like myself as they really make them stand out. There are a mixture of light and dark shadows as well as shimmery, matte and satin shadows all of which compliment each other, so it is really easy to create a number of different looks with this palette.

I have only had this palette for a couple of days now, but am already in love with this collection of shades, it really is a winner for any an occasion. Mac eyeshadows are just the best too, they are my fail safe brand that I can always rely on for great pigmentation, ability to blend easily and longevity.

I am so happy that I got my hands on this palette, I think it was the selection of shades that was missing from my collection. Although now I am seriously lusting after the Amber Times Nine Palette, so think it is only a matter of time before I cave, it looks like the perfect palette for summer!
